Q: How do Zoom sessions work?
A: (Breathwork)We will meet on Zoom at the scheduled time. Wear something comfortable and be in a comfortable space where you will not be disturbed. We will go over what to expect/ your intention for the session and dive in!
A: (Reiki) We will meet on zoom and go over your intention (what has been weighing on you,/what would you like healing on?). I will go over the process and we will begin. Have a comfortable space available to lay down. Each session and person is different. For some sessions we will talk back and forth based on what is coming up, or the session will be quiet (with music but no talking necessary). The Reiki knows exactly where to go and what to do, regardless if it is felt immediately or not.
Q: What does breathwork/Reiki feel like?
A: Each session and person is different. Common sensations are (but not limited to:) feeling tingly, relaxation, feeling reset, emotional release (crying, making sounds, etc.), urge to move the body, and realizations. I invite you to go into your session with no expectations or judgements. Have an intention and trust your body knows what it needs, whether that be an emotional release or sitting in stillness and taking it in.
Q: My body was having odd sensations during breathwork/Reiki. Is this normal?
A: It is absolutely normal and part of the experience. Tetany is an involuntary contraction of the muscles, commonly in the hands, mouth and feet. Tetany occurs when the ph of our blood gets thrown off by the amount of oxygen we're taking in. It is harmless and the sensation goes away after releasing the breath pattern and returning to a normal breath. This is where somatic release comes in; the body knows what to do. Trust it and let it be expressed through you. There however should not be extreme physical pain.
Q: What happens after?
A: After your experience you may feel many emotions. Give yourself time and space to integrate after the session. Not having plans is great, but you of course can still go about your day.
Q: I'm having mixed feelings about trying breathwork.
A: Honor yourself for listening to your body and intuition! Breathwork can be used every day and as a part of your daily routine, at the same time it is not to be taken lightly! It can stir up a lot of emotions and feelings that may have been pressed down for days, months, years even. Really take a look into why you're feeling resistance. Maybe some emotions feel too hard to revisit. Maybe you're just unsure of what happens when you take a dive into healing and how you may not be the same after! Your body will know when its ready, and you can always message me with any questions.
